Gal 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

2 Th 3:13 “But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.”

Rev 2:3 “and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.”

Being patient is an essential characteristic of the children of God, those who are waiting to be united with Him. How can we avoid feeling weary when passing through what feels to be an unending trial or when we don’t see our good work bear fruit?

Firstly and above all, fix your eyes on Jesus and an eternal life with Him, arm yourself with God’s word, remember His promises, rest in Him, look for Him in the spiritually dry times, ask Him for strength and patience. Finally, remember that our rewards may not be instant but they are definite and eternal and we need to persevere to the end to win the prize.

Isaiah 28:12 “To whom He said, “This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest,” And, “This is the refreshing”; Isaiah 40:30-31 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,”

Mat 24:13 “But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”

Luk 21:19 “By your patience possess your souls.”

My Lord and Saviour give me patience and endurance to stay on the narrow path till I see You.
